2025 Community Builder Award: Honoring Wendy Irvin

September 16th, 2025

Cunningham-Limp is proud to recognize Wendy Irvin, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region, as the 2025 Community Builder of the Year. This award celebrates leaders who bring people together, create opportunity, and strengthen the communities of Northern Michigan.

As a company, Cunningham-Limp created the Community Builder Awards to honor individuals who reflect the same commitment that drives our work: building better communities through partnership, vision, and purpose.

Wendy has led Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region since 2012, guiding the organization to help more than 40 families achieve affordable homeownership in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska counties. Her vision has driven projects like the New Waves neighborhood in Leelanau County and a multi-home development in Maple City, each designed to reflect urgent local needs while prioritizing long-term sustainability.

Her impact extends beyond building homes. Wendy plays an active role in shaping housing policy through her work with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan’s Advocacy and Finance Committees. Locally, she strengthens collaboration across sectors through her involvement with Rotary Charities and the Rotary Club of Traverse City.

At Cunningham-Limp, we believe in delivering meaningful projects by investing in people, places, and the partnerships that bring them together. Wendy embodies that belief, which is why she represents the spirit of this award so clearly.

For more than 40 years as a company, and 25 years in the Northwest Michigan region, Cunningham-Limp has been proud to partner with organizations and leaders who are shaping a brighter future. Recognizing Wendy as the 2025 Community Builder of Award is one way we celebrate the shared vision of building communities where people and families can thrive.
